We make training gear designed to perform consistently when it’s actually put to use.
Bighorn was started by Kevin Levine, who has worked in e-commerce since 2012. While training jiu jitsu, he noticed that most finger tape on the market had the same issues: either too sticky and messy, or too thick and uncomfortable during training. There weren’t many good alternatives, so he decided to make one. He began sourcing and testing different tapes with athletes across jiu jitsu and climbing gyms throughout the U.S., focusing on material, adhesive, durability, and overall feel. If something didn’t hold up during real training, it didn’t move forward.
After months of testing, we developed our first product: a cotton finger tape designed to tear easily, hold consistently, and leave minimal residue. What started with tape has since expanded into a broader lineup of training gear, including kinesiology tape, blister protection, apparel, journals, and other products built for different styles of training. Today, Bighorn products are used by everyday athletes as well as competitors at the highest levels of jiu jitsu, including world champions. We continue to test, refine, and improve everything we make with the same approach we started with: build products that perform consistently when people actually need them.

Not in labs—in real training. If it doesn’t hold up during hard rounds or repeated use, it doesn’t make it.
We keep things simple. Every product has a clear purpose—nothing added unless it improves performance.
It fits right, stays on, and does its job—so you can stay focused on training.
